Dapper Dan and GAP are back—just in time for the holiday season—with new hoodies (and more). Oh, happy days indeed. This latest DAP GAP collection features 18 pieces, and it’s packed with apparel and accessories for the whole family. That’s right, everyone eats—including the kids. In fact, this marks the very first DAP GAP drop designed specifically for children.
“This is exciting for me because we are now offering products for kids for the first time,” Dapper Dan shared. “I want to inspire hope in the young people coming after me. I want them to see who I am and what I have done. Dressing all generations, including kids, is very important to me.”
So, whether you’re shopping for yourself or the little ones, this drop brings something for everyone—and a legacy that’s stitched with purpose.
Dapper Dan’s DAP GAP collection offers up new DAP GAP hoodies, some realized with “DAP” monograms and houndstooth designs. It reminded me of Dapper Dan’s famous designs. He played with luxury logos and made new pieces. His work caught the eye of hip-hop legends like LL Cool J and Biggie Smalls.
Like his earlier work that launched him into fashion fame, Dapper Dan’s latest GAP collection continues the legacy. It’s another moment of him spreading his style—letting people rock a Dapper Dan creation. If they can cop one, that is. The first hoodie drop was a battle, but I managed to win.
“Working with GAP allows me to personify my culture and share it with the world. I made history with GAP by bringing my roots to the masses. This collection is for the people who’ve supported me for years.”
In addition to new hoodies, DAP GAP Dapper Dan features pleated track pants, a baseball cap, a silky scarf, a tote bag, and socks. The pieces come in winter-ready colors—green, brown, black, and cream. Some items even feature his signature monogram, just like the iconic hooded sweatshirts.
As with the first drop, this release is another love letter to Harlem. The neighborhood’s name appears again, boldly placed under the DAP GAP logo.
For the campaign, Dapper Dan and GAP spotlight Harlem’s own. Familiar faces include Melba Wilson, Felipe Luciano, Khary Lazarre-White, and Jason Warwin. Giannina Oteto, Starr Williams, and Grey Iona also appear. Alberth Johnson, Gabriela Lopez Castillo, Chaz Anthony, and Malaye Diakhate are present too.
“Community and culture are everything to me,” says Dapper Dan. “GAP gives Harlem a global platform. I was born and raised here. Harlem inspires me every day.”
“You will see changemakers in this campaign. Melba, the owner of the famous Melba’s Restaurant, is one of them. Felipe is another. He is a strong voice in journalism and activism.” Khary and Jason, founders of BroSis, are shaping the youth. I had to highlight those making real change.”
This time, Dapper Dan is giving Harlem first dibs. The new DAP GAP collection drops December 4 at GAP Harlem. He’ll be there too—meeting fans and showing love to his hometown.
The collection goes live online and in select GAP stores on December 5. A drop this big deserves more than one release.
Last year’s hoodies sold out, restocked, and sold out again. Now, Dapper Dan and GAP are raising the bar. When I say big, I mean it—literally and culturally.
This new release includes 18 pieces and centers Harlem at the heart of fashion. Both Dapper Dan and the neighborhood need no introduction. But DAP GAP makes it official.
“This is my largest collection with GAP,” he says. “It shows how powerful this collaboration is. This is a global tsunami of culture.” And yes—he’s right.
